Leadership Development

Scotland Can Do recognises the importance of building your leadership capacity to deepen your skills, confidence and connections as Can Do Collective members. This year, we're launching the Resilient Leadership Catalyst.

Immerse yourself in world-class education & peer learning

Following a successful pilot with 5 Can Do Partners on the topic of Navigating Volatility from Dec 2020 to March 2021, Can Do Collective members are invited to apply for a unique leadership training experience.

  • Fully funded virtual learning at Babson College

  • 3-month facilitated online course

  • Peer-led discussion groups

  • Expert facilitators

We know that one of the key elements for growing a strong and thriving entrepreneurial community is investing in you, our ecosystem leaders. We recognise that often Can Do Collective members do not have access to formal leadership development, which would deliver benefits for them and the communities they seek to serve.

We are focused on deepening the skills, confidence and connections of Can Do Collective members, so that the impact you deliver is amplified and positively influences your organisations, the Can Do Collective and Scotland.

I was very excited about the opportunity to finally go to Babson College, even if only online, through the Catalyst programme and thoroughly enjoyed the interesting, thought provoking and entertaining sessions with Jay Rao.  However, of equal if not more value was the chance to reflect on what we’d learned and the challenges we’d faced with my peers in the Can Do Collective.

Be Part of the Can Do Cohort

Scotland Can Do is excited to open 24 places on a bespoke Resilient Leadership Catalyst programme, across two cohorts, in November 2021 and March 2022. This opportunity is open to impact-driven leaders who are members of the Collective.

Scotland Can Do and funding partner, The Scottish Government, understand the importance of dedicated leadership training for those at the heart of Scotland’s ecosystem. In making this available to our Partners, we aim to accelerate the Collective towards meeting shared national outcomes for Scotland.
That’s why places on the Can Do cohort are being offered on a fully-funded basis, allowing
us to create a diverse cohort who can learn and share in a collaborative environment and who span the public, private and third sector.

 Who should apply?

Members of the Collective for 12months+

2 years+ director level or senior management experience

Learning mindset

We are looking for applicants who are primed to take advantage of some immersive learning within a cohort of peers.

If you are ready to think bigger about your contribution to meeting the national outcomes for Scotland through the power of our collective impact, then this programme is for you.

The Catalyst Programme

Blending the knowledge and experience drawn from a cohort of selected peers, this bespoke Resilient Leadership Catalyst turns entrepreneurial thought into action over a 3 month period.

Babson College – the No. 1 school for entrepreneurship in the world for the past 25 years – sets high expectations for participant engagement. Its faculty of entrepreneurs draw from personal experience and have a keen understanding of current affairs and global markets. The content will:

  • Accelerate your ability to turn entrepreneurial thinking into your action
  • Introduce perspectives and ideas that stimulate new thinking

  • Unlock the potential in your organisation and The Can Do Collective through the applications of lessons learned

This programme (usually costing $1260) will give you the tools and roadmap you need to facilitate and implement these evolving ideas and make them permanent.

The Catalyst will be delivered in an online format where you will learn the fundamental concepts, methods and tools of resilient leadership.

Receive 24 hours of structured learning

Undertake 12 hours self-guided exercises designed to accelerate learning impact

Taking part in the Catalyst opportunity, Navigating Volatility with Babson, was a very timely and beneficial experience to me both personally and organisationally. The pandemic brought along so many uncertainties and the programme was able to strengthen existing methodologies of leadership and add value through the insights of the experts on the programme both from Babson and fellow participants. Highly Recommended!

This short, well delivered programme brought me into closer contact and deeper connection with other Entrepreneurial Ecosystem leaders. Together we explored and learnt more about the issues we face together as we lead our organisations and country into Recovery from Covid.
