I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know about some forthcoming Social Investment Scotland support sessions that we have coming up over the next few months.

These will have a focus on support for leaders and the Cost of Living Crisis. We are so lucky to work with so many amazing organisations and leaders who have a such a wide range of experience and expertise and who are happy to share their experience of leading impactful businesses through challenging times – our Talking Heads Series.

Also, Rachael Brown, SIS Associate will be delivering our Flagship programme, Retail Bootcamp in 15- 17 March. This is an intensive three-day programme covering a number of key topics including trends, marketing and finance. It will also include a session and chance to meet corporate buyers, please check out more detail below and via our website for sign up.

Cashflow tool, if this is something you really struggle with our new simple and effective tool could be what you need. We have a session next week, 24 January best to attend if you have questions or there’s a recording of a previous session you can watch.

We would be pleased if you would share these details with your team, your clients, and your community.

Best wishes and any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Wilma in our comms team – Wilma@socialinvestmentscotland.com

    Here’s what’s coming up:

Our Talking Heads Series of workshops will kick off on the 8 February with Jane Devine, CEO of Four Square. There will be conversations with six amazing social enterprise leaders hosted by our SIS Associate, Jane Bruce. Find out more here: https://www.socialinvestmentscotland.com/learning-hub/talking-heads-leading-through-challenging-times/

Our Retail for Change Bootcamp (formerly Retail Academy) – 15 / 16 / 17 March (with prep days on 1 & 2 March) ahead of a ‘Meet the Buyer’ session as part of the culmination of the programme. Buyers include Historic Scotland and Dobbies. Register here: https://www.socialinvestmentscotland.com/learning-hub/learn-more-about-our-2023-bootcamp/.

Our Bootcamp, hosted by SIS Associate and programme leader, Rachael Brown, has a ‘laser’ focus on brand alignment and the potential to work with commercial partners with mutual values and customers. Delivered online, the programme provides the practical tools organisations need to help their businesses thrive. The Bootcamp content includes sessions on market analysis, trends and marketing with the opportunity to meet, engage and share their product, service or experience with the right buyers looking to connect with organisations in the social space. Through this programme, we want to make a difference by working with organisations to deliver business focus, whilst making profits and creating impact.

    Cashflow Tool

Developed in partnership with Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants, our simple and effective cashflow tool is now available. We are hosting a demonstration session on 24 January with a chance to see the tool in action and ask questions. Sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/510664389937. There is also a recording of a previous session which can be viewed here.

Here’s what an attendee at our first session had to say…

“The workshop explained clearly what would be involved and that after the initial input it would only need updating… Overall, I found the workshop informative and the cashflow tool looks like it would save me a lot of time for a regular review of our cash flow. We use an old clunky spreadsheet that serves its purpose for budgets and projections but is not good for giving a quick review.”

Kirsty McKenzie, Business Manager, Klas Care CIC.

We have a session on 2 February in partnership with the South of Scotland Enterprise which will talk through accessing investment during the Cost-of-Living Crisis and the various options available despite turbulent times. There’s also recordings of our previous sessions supporting key themes around the Cost-of-Living Crisis, and these can be found on our website here: https://www.socialinvestmentscotland.com/learning-hub/sis-business-support-cost-of-living-crisis/.
